DisciplineRRTerms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of DisciplineRR, a private, local-first trading journal for Windows, independently built and supported by Broden “Four” Hauck IV in Colorado, USA (“DisciplineRR,” “we,” or “us”). By purchasing or using the software, you agree to these terms.
License grant
Subject to these terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use DisciplineRR for your own personal trading journaling and review.
Personal-use license
A purchase provides one personal-use license for the individual purchaser. The license is intended for personal installation on computers you own or control. It is not a team, business, or redistribution license.
Trial license
DisciplineRR includes a free 7-day evaluation license. During the trial you may use the software for personal evaluation without a paid license. After the trial period ends, the software may operate in a read-only mode until a paid lifetime license is activated. Your journal data remains stored locally on your computer regardless of trial status. The trial, like the licensed software, does not provide trading signals, market predictions, or financial advice. A paid lifetime license is required for continued full access after the trial.
Version 1.x update entitlement
A purchase includes access to DisciplineRR Version 1 and Version 1.x updates, unless otherwise stated at checkout. Future major versions (for example, a potential Version 2) are not guaranteed to be included and may be offered separately.
Prohibited use
- You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, or share the installer or your license with others.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- You may not remove or alter proprietary notices or attempt to circumvent license activation.
Ownership and intellectual property
DisciplineRR, including its software, design, and content, is owned by its creator and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
No trading or financial advice
DisciplineRR is a software tool for journaling, risk calculation, and review. It does not provide trading signals, market predictions, financial advice, or investment advice, and it does not tell you what to buy, sell, hold, or avoid. All trading decisions are yours alone. Trading involves substantial risk of loss.
Support limitations
Support covers installation, activation, license recovery, updating, imports, backups, and app defects. Support does not include financial, investment, trading-strategy, or brokerage advice. See the support page for details.
Local data responsibility
Your journal data is stored locally on your computer. You are responsible for backing up your data using the app’s export and backup features. We are not responsible for local data loss.
Disclaimer of warranties
DisciplineRR is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DisciplineRR and its creator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for trading losses, lost profits, or lost data, arising from your use of the software. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the software.
Termination
These terms and your license remain in effect until terminated. Your license may terminate automatically if you materially breach these terms, including the prohibited-use restrictions. On termination, you must stop using and remove the software.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
